“We shall never achieve harmony with the land, anymore than we shall achieve absolute justice or liberty for people. In these higher aspirations the important thing is not to achieve but to strive.”― Aldo Leopold, Round River: From the Journals of Aldo Leopold

Why did you get involved in Student LEAF?
“ I was inspired to continue the efforts begun in the 2012 Environmental and Sustainable Studies Senior Seminar course in pursuing the creation of a green fund at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). More specifically, I shared, with my fellow classmates, a hunch that the development of a comprehensive green fund could empower the campus community to collaborate and transform UNC into a more sustainable campus and culture.”
What is you dream proposal for UNC?
“I would propose the creation of a Center for Environmental and Sustainable Studies. The Center’s purpose would be to further the knowledge of the field and to education the campus community on how to live more sustainably. My proposal is based on my belief that in order for Student LEAF to make great strides towards accomplishing its mission: “empowering a sustainable campus community,” the students, faculty, and staff must be willing and educated to adopt a lifestyle that would render such an outcome.”
